Aid for the Restructuring and Conversion of Vineyards in Andalusia

Amendments to the Order regulating aid for the Restructuring and Conversion of Vineyards in Andalusia, applicable from 2025 onwards

On April 9, 2025, the BOJA published the Order of March 28, 2025, which amends the Order of March 9, 2023, approving the regulatory bases for the granting of aid for the restructuring and conversion of vineyards in Andalusia, included in the sectoral intervention of the Spanish wine sector (2024–2027), and modifies the Order of April 29, 2024, which establishes additional rules relating to the intervention of specific payments for cotton cultivation in Andalusia during the 2023–2027 period.

The main amendments to the Order regulating aid for the Restructuring and Conversion of Vineyards in Andalusia, which will apply starting from the 2025 call (yet to be announced), are as follows:

1. An operation will only be eligible if it involves a change of grape variety or a transformation from goblet training to trellis, or both, compared to the original setup, except in cases where the vineyard is being relocated.
2. The maximum area that an individual or entity may request per call will be 20 hectares.
3. Applicants who renounce the aid after the resolution granting the aid has been published will not be eligible to apply for aid in the following two calls.
4. The method for ranking operations in the event of a tie in priority criteria scores has been modified. Operations will now be ranked from lowest to highest total amount requested per applicant.
5. The requirement to submit a notice of commencement of operations (Annex IX) is eliminated.
6. Products included in the Register of certain plant protection methods (MDF) will be eligible for the disinfection action.
7. For trellis installation, the reuse of all materials is allowed. The installation itself will be eligible, whether carried out by the applicant or by service companies. The applicant must submit a certificate confirming this along with the payment request.
